Around here, we simply call him Pastor David. Though he holds a Doctor of Ministry, a Master of Divinity, and a Master of Music, and was trained in the Evangelical Covenant Church tradition, he’s known first and foremost as a down-to-earth pastor who genuinely cares about people.
Pastor David has served as a Covenant pastor for more than 30 years. Before entering ministry, he was a classically trained musician who both performed and taught. His preaching is thoughtful, relatable, and focused on making Scripture meaningful for everyday life, whether you’re part of the church family or still exploring what it means to follow Jesus.
As he often says, My heart for ministry has always been motivated by helping people bask in the amazing love, acceptance, and grace of God, and to thrive as the precious person God has called them to be.
Shawn Loomis – Praise Team Leader
Shawn brings a heart of worship, a passion for community, and a lifetime of musical experience. From early days playing guitar alongside his father to performing in bands and leading worship, Shawn has grown both as an artist and as a servant of the church.
In his role at Wiley Heights, Shawn leads the congregation in meaningful worship each Sunday, encourages others in their musical gifts, and helps shape an atmosphere where people of all ages can engage in heartfelt praise. He holds a deep appreciation for the role of music in spiritual life and values both excellence and humility in service.
Shawn is committed to helping the community of Wiley Heights grow together in faith, using music as one of the threads that binds worship, fellowship, and discipleship.
